An important question on the blog today i already asked on my Face book page  and i thought i would ask here. yes i did eventually cave in cos i was tired of the arguments and hearing the lines
"But Mum most of my friends have it" Why can't i?

So after going through the pro's and cons of it all i did i flipped and just said fine! Wondering if i made the right choice or not? Now here is the Question for you .......

WOULD YOU LET YOUR THIRTEEN YEAR OLD SON / DAUGHTER HAVE A TWITTER ACCOUNT?

YES?  /  NO?

WHY?  /  WHY NOT?

  1. It's a hard one cause we can't hide technology and the Internet from our kids. It's the future. But we want to shield them from harm. I guess if its closely monitored by mum as in you have their password and check on it regularly then it should be ok.
My kids haven't gone into twitter or facebook yet. They still sign up to the kids gaming sites and I make sure if there is chat that they are not allowed to use it and most kids sites have that option.

  2. No. I don't think that it is necessary.

Also at that age they are fairly innocent/immature to be dealing with all the types out there in the cyber world. It is bad enough them having to go out in the real world.

  3. No I don't believe that it is necessary.

It is bad enough trying to protect our children from dangers in the real world, let alone having to worry about the dangers in the cyber world. At 13 I don't really think that they have the maturity to be be partaking in facebook/twitter.
