If you go to a public school and it's co-ed the boys seem to say ~ OMG! your legs are so hairy OR you are growing a moustache . I have been rather hesitant saying just ignore them but when it's been happening for two terms. You as a mother get upset right!?
But when it's you own child /teen and they beg you to either get your lip /legs waxed you think Hmmm . What would you do in my shoes?
Am i doing the right thing?
So today she got her lip and half legs waxed.
I am sure i will cop loads of flak saying "shes far to young" or "My goodness how could you do that.....
But try being in her shoes for one day .She now feels confident and i know i did the right thing for her.

I had blonde hair on my legs and yet was made fun of because my parents wouldn't let me shave my legs in high school ( years 7 and 8) so I took a razor and did it myself. I would have much preferred my parents help me and listen to my complaints about being picked on.
ReplyDeleteSo I think you did the right thing.
Yes i must admit i also did the same thing in years 7 and 8 took a razor and shaved mine! I am just glad she will be more confident and happy :-)
DeleteI didn't shave or wax my legs until I was in my 20s!! My Mum never did and it wasn't until I was working that I started. I was teased about it, but then I was teased about other things too! lol.
ReplyDeleteYou need to do what's right for your daughter :)
