Question for you ~ HOW DO YOU GET YOUR KIDS TO TAKE THERE TABLETS TO GET THEM WELL?
Chloe has been rather ill for 4 days with a severe migraine and at thirteen she is old enough to take a tablet for the relief of headaches etc...
But this can be tricky when your child just can't swallow them! She tried 3 times and spat it out onto my hand by now the tablet in question was all soppy and crumbled *sigh*
So yes she asked me to put it into a sandwich and hide it in either jam or peanut butter. well i used jam crunched it up with a spoon. She still could taste it.
Mind you the tablet was not that big ,normal size.
After 4 failed attempts i ran to the chemist to get the liquid form and she took that!
HOW DO YOU GET YOUR KIDS TO SWALLOW A TABLET?

I've had trouble taking tablets all my life, I've only solved the problem in the last year or so. It partly depends on what the problem is, if it's a physical problem then you'll just need to crush it and hide it in something, if it's a mental problem then she'll need to work on that herself. I had both problems and solved them individually but I still have the odd challenge where it just won't go down.
ReplyDeleteI've had this problem with my daughter Rhea, who has asperger's. I got round it by buying some plain capsules from the chemist, you know - empty versions of the capsules you might take for other meds. Have a word with your pharmacist and see if you can get them in OZ. Then just pop the pill inside, or if it is too big, crush it first. It works a treat! good luck!
