This is how i want to spend Christmas THIS year!!! And guess what we are!!! Yay.
For the past ten years or so we have always done Christmas and i mean from dawn till midnight and it's tiring
here is what used to happen ;
*weeks leading up to Christmas i would make sure the house was clean and dusted etc...
*week or 2 weeks before the day ~ I started to cook and cook and cook!
* When you have a Christmas due over at Dannie's place it's fit for a king!
* Get up at crack of dawn set up tables /chairs inside and out move stuff around so everything fits
*put up more decorations so now the house looks like the bloody Christmas Myer window display *sigh*
*Yes people would often hear like friends and etc... they would pop in through out the day . "i said grab a chair and dig in" ......
*Family would turn up at 12 noon followed by my sisters and their teens ,friends and there own kiddies and so on by 2pm i had a full house of 30 Adults and kids and sat scoffed down lunch.
*Lunch~ 5 types of salads ,Ham ,turkey ,other meats , egg nog , platters of food galore...veggies , etc.... then sweets~ Puddings ,cakes plus Christmas cakes.
*The last person would leave around 2am then i cleaned up went to bed by 4am got up to start the same process for the boxing day B.B.Q where 20 friends would turn up with more food etc...
For the past 2 years WE told everyone to find other arrangements again as for this year, this year as i was not doing it anymore well a few more years i needed a long long long break and had enough
So my other 2 adult kids (aged 20 and 18) go out anyway as they don't live here any more they pop in etc...
and go on there merry way and the 13 yr old goes out on Christmas day as well to her BFF's for a sleep over so I am happy it;s just me and Dion this year .
We shall escape for either a night or 2 to our other house (holiday) a little cottage with the most awesome fire place and totally alone behind sherbrooke forest . To us it's magical heaven. No cooking We get some dinner supplies from down the road at woolies and sip champers outside on the verandah under the stars ....
WHAT IS CHRISTMAS DAY LIKE FOR YOU AT YOUR HOUSE?

We always host Christmas lunch at our house..not as many people as you have, but the spread is just as big! 4 types of meat, veggies and about 4 or so different deserts too!
ReplyDeleteThen we head out to my uncle and aunt's place where all the extended family get together for Christmas dinner (my mum's side) about 8 of mum's brothers and sisters and their children and some of them have kids so like 11 or 12 of my 2nd cousins! It takes too long to work out how many, but there is easily 50+ for Christmas Dinner lol
Thanks for linking up, Dannie.
